* Premature Withdrawal
Penalty A penal interest of 1% shall be applicable on premature withdrawal of any deposit. This means the interest rate payable will be 1% lower than the applicable rate for the actual period for which the deposit remained with the Bank.
Example: If a deposit was originally booked for 2 years at 7% p.a., but is withdrawn after 1 year, and the applicable rate for a 1-year deposit is 6% p.a., then interest will be paid at 5% p.a. (i.e., 6% – 1%) for the period the deposit was held.
